Progress on the UFOs from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

I'm going to have to do some research. Those following the blog by e-mail are dropping off -- I have no idea why it's not getting picked up. Remember, you can use a third-party RSS Reader to make it happen. Follow.it is working. And what's up with the comments -- sometimes it works for people, and others it does not. I'll find an answer to both.

Sigh --- some things are beyond my comprehension and my control? Well, we need to figure this out!

I accomplished a lot yesterday, so I feel happy about that, and while I ...

I'm falling....................... from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

So I'm feeling better this morning. I did NOT walk much yesterday - I started by walking to the end of the driveway and back. OK --- that wasn't so bad, but let's not push the envelope. Later in the day, the snow started, and I was getting a wee bit restless, so I went to the end of the driveway again and then went for a bit longer walk. It wasn't my day because, YEP -- I slipped and fell.

There's that moment when time stands still. You know you're off balance, and I could feel ...

Work on the UFOs from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It was another glorious day! I went out for a long walk in the afternoon with no hat, and by the time I got home, my jacket was open, my scarf was dangling, and my mitts were in m pocket! I LOVE days like that. But it was cold when I took the girls out in the morning, and my legs were a bit red when I got back!

We had our UFO Clubs in the morning, which is always a hoot. Who did or didn't get their homework done? If they don't, $10 will be donated to ...

ยป Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Yesterday was a much calmer day! Phew --- I've had so much excitement lately that I wasn't sure I could handle more!

Before I forget, let me share the story of the lotto scratch ticket. I found the ticket when I was cleaning up - wait, I have another funny story to share about that! So I found this three-part scratch ticket. It wasn't completely scratched, and when I looked on the back, there was NO expiry date, so why not?

I think it won $10, so I might as well cash that in. When I went to that ...

On an adventure! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OH --- I just remembered that I had to tell you about the second package I sent with Canada Post. Remember, the first one went in a bubble pouch and arrived sometime the next day but late in the afternoon. The second one (in a box) arrived the next day but before NOON. So when the post office says better service, they mean it! Was that a fluke, the location of the receiver? No idea, but both packages were delivered!

Well, I did it! I tackled that darn table in the office. I can do anything when there's a REWARD ...

On forming habits from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Pat --- thanks for the most interesting comment yesterday about ambassadors versus staff versus free-lance educators. We are different!

First -- I'm a freelance educator working with SVP Canada, the parent company for the PFAFF, Husqvarna Viking, and Singer brands. We do not get a salary but are "contract" people. To my knowledge, ambassadors do NOT get paid EVER but get the use of equipment or product. And then you have paid staff members. This scenario is probably the same for all industries.

I do freelance work for others, but it's all sewing related! I write blog posts and design ...

Time to lose weight! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

It's like the Night before Christmas at my house. All is calm! And I love it! It's super easy to keep all my spaces clean and tidy - trust me, they go through many transformations in a day, and it can look like a disaster, but because everything has a home, it takes mere seconds to put stuff away. And yes, constant refinements will be made as I go along, or I'll unearth something else that needs to be dealt with. It's going to be an ongoing process for years to come.

However, at the rate I ...

A well organized quilt studio! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

No quilts got bound yesterday! I swear - I had everything ready to go, and other things got in the way! How does that happen? At least I got lots done, so I was happy at the end of the day, and the number of quilts to quilt before Christmas is getting smaller every day. I hope to be done by the weekend!

I want to ensure that if there is stuff on the cutting table, I focus on that! That is how my system is supposed to work. So two quilts were sitting there that needed me to find border ...

Sun up to sun down from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Thanks, Carolyn, for the offer to bind quilts!!! I will start working on the binding as soon as those quilt backs are DONE! Only three more to make!

I never get too much done on a Monday, as I seem to chat more than I sew! But I got the next quilt loaded on the long arm, and the next piece of machine embroidery prepped and ready to go. Plus, I cleared up a few things, and those worktables are almost clear! So it was a good day!

Worktables are almost clear!

Oh my -- I have serious allergy issues these ...

Automation saves time! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

You had better sit down for this one. Even I was exhausted when I went to bed!

I'll start with the quilt report. Yes --- more quilts are done for Quilts of Valour, making numbers 5 and 6 of eleven. Can I get five more done by Thursday evening?

Quilts of Valour quilt Number 5

Quilts of Valour quilt Number 6

I know I will - - I'll make it a priority. Even with automation, quilting two quilts in one day is time-consuming!

Four of the remaining five quilts

And I played bobbin chicken, and I won! I was getting close ...
